Even before the Leeds game I was convinced we'd lose this... Now with Konsa out, questions over Buendia and Coutinho and the fact that Slavecastle are building up a head of steam, I am even more convinced that we'll be leaving empty handed.

Depending on injuries i hope he makes changes

McGinn
Luiz
Watkins

IMHO were awful on Wed and we have adequate replacements to change it around

Chuck
Sanson
Ings
Bailey
Traore (if his walk back from Africa is completed by then)

Other than the forced Konsa change it would just be Ings for Watkins for me.

I Like Luiz when he pushes forward, but I think we need him to play a more disciplined DM role.  I think the idea against Leeds was that they all interchange to make it difficult for the opposition to pick up our midfield runners.  Obviously it worked beautifully with Ramsey, but we looked all at sea defensively and Leeds just had too much space.

A bit late in the day for a pre-match thread, the Leeds one was up three months before we played them! Mods out !

I'm still going for a Villa win though Wednesday's result (and especially the performance barring the 15 mins before half time) has knocked my confidence in getting the 3 points. This in part is due to our poor possession stats against Leeds and the collective lack of defensive cohesion demonstrated. These are areas our management/coaches need to work on otherwise 1 win in 7 won't make good reading for our "upgrade" in manager.
It is only the jaudis after all!

Trust our luck to go up there when it's all sweetness and light for them rather than the dark days of Bruce. I'd make SJM defensive mid, bring Sanson in for Doug and play Hause rather than Chambers to counteract that big lump from Burnley.

I'm hoping for a nice little win but fear a defeat draped in that old coat of North East bullshit that we had to endure back in the 90's.

Ah, everybody's second favourite team / evil oil empire.

Somebody mentioned above that Coutinho and Buendia are doubts - that right?  With them in the team I fancy us to win, but if not so I would take a point now if offered.

Oh, and Watkins surely needs dropping for this one.

I bit worried about this one St Maximin is quite the handful and unplayable basically. I can see Chambers coming in and doing his best to take him out!
Wood probably get his first goal for Newcastle but I'll say we sneak a win if we don't have too many first choices out like Coutinho and Buendia.
Ings to come in and brace.

Chris Wood hasn't scored yet for them yet.  If you could play any team in the world to break your duck sure it would be us?

Big game for Chambers - if he plays well he might just stay in the team and Konsa could only blame himself.
