People like someone to moan about, now it's our 2nd choice 'keeper.

He's not the best on the world, but he's done fine this season, and that save on Saturday night could be the difference between us finishing 4th or 5th.

Exactly. If we end up beating Spurs to 4th by a point (or even goal difference), there will be many things this season we can point to that have earned us that all-important extra point - but Olsen's save against Palmer will be RIGHT up there.

So Tim, tell me what garbage he has done this season then? After all you seem to be the expert.

Well his passing accuracy on saturday was 59% and 33%  with his long passes. Thats pretty absymal to be honest.

He does not seem confident to me either. He always looks nervous

I dont rate him personally ans i would like to see what gauci can do as he is obviously the long term number 2

He's noticeably much calmer on the ball now than he was. Compare Brentford away last season, when he was a bag of nerves to Man City away, where he was stroking it around fine, then you can see the positive impact of coaching. Came and collected balls well, made a top save on Palmer. He's much improved.

My main concern with Olsen for Thursday is simply that if he gets injured during the match we're down to someone whose never played at a decent level, never mind in a game as important as a European SF. Not saying they'd do it, but if I was Olympiakos, I'd be thinking get in there and rattle the keeper as much as possible.

Who'd want to lose their keeper in such an important game. That never works out well.

Obviously, but it's usually going from 1st choice to 2nd, not from 2nd to never played before.

I think we should bring Nyland back.  I always loved his terrified expressions.

For a 2nd choice keeper, he's probably about as good as we can get right now.  If we get champs league, maybe we can upgrade, but the great paradox of second choice keepers is that if they're good enough to start, they'll want to leave your team to start elsewhere.  But if they're happy enough to be a backup, they won't be good enough to start.

Agree totally

The biggest issue with Olsen is that Martinez is so good with his feet and so much part of our starting play that without him we just do not look the same. Of course the defenders are not as sure with him as they are with the best GK in the world
