The first 20 mins was the worst we've payed under Gerrard so far.  It was abysmal.  From there we improved and lthey are only had because of a very lucky goal.  I'd lie to see us change this at half time, not wait for 20 mins  Take the initiative now and get Coutinho on the pitch.  One of Ings or Watkins off now too - it doesn't and won't work, fuck knows why but it's clear as day that they get in each others way and we might as well be playing with 9 men.

Digne a big upgrade on Targett already.

That was disappointing, we started slowly and didn’t wake up until around the 35th minute.

I don’t think Konsa will be out for the second half, he was really struggling

Disappointed but there is still hope. They have been all over us 1st 20 minutes. Come on villa.  We can do it.

It’s sad but, we really don’t look threatening or about to score anytime soon. Change of tactics is clearly needed and a change in formation. Think Archer would probably give their defence a few more problems than Watkins or Ings. We really need to step our play up by at least 10% and also press them much higher up the pitch.

Think we need Coutinho on as soon as possible. Yes he won't be 100% but he's been training since Wednesday so surely can manage about half an hour.

Think Buendia's played really well and our best moves have come through him. Coutinho's reputation will mean they'd have to mark him a bit so should mean Buendia gets a bit more space centrally.

Can't leave Ings and Watkins on though otherwise they'll just walk through our central midfield.

This game is still open for us imo. 2 nil and it's obviously over so Mings will probably score an own goal early second half.

A bland performance and one which I hugely regret waking up at 2:30am for.

They look better than us. Ings and Watkins both stealing a wage, and just don't work together in the same team. Luiz is ridiculously bad, and overrated beyond belief.

Pisses me off when we concede early and it's game over.

Konsa could barely walk and looked in agony - strange they kept him on.

Not a good half, but I'm genuinely surprised how deep Man Utd are getting once we get the ball. After one corner in the first half all 11 players sprinted back into their own half - no pressing, get back and set the shape. They seem happy to let us have possession in the middle third, which generally means you need someone to beat a player to break the lines.  If only we had someone on the bench capable of such witchcraft...

Complete inability to hit the ground running.  We always have to fanny arse about in our own half giving away stupid freekicks for the first quarter.

It doesn't matter who's managing our team, they always, always make weird decisions like playing Ings and Watkins together when IT DOESN'T WORK.

We all know it and have done for months. I think one of us should be in charge of picking the team. We're clearly better informed.

The last 15 mins were better, but big improvement still needed, Sanson and Buendia have played well.

Cavani basically played as left winger for last 20 minutes of that half.

Their young lad on the right caused Cash loads of trouble so hopefully he tires out a bit.
