Now he'll much easier to sell, lower wages, no give away contract. Good business sense from the club. Hopefully another great season.

One of the leaders as well, along with Mings, McGinn and Martinez. Really good player, seems like model pro as well, will be happy if he signs up for another year of ANOTHER ONE

Could see him playing until his late 30's. Great player and top attitude.

All in all, even though at one point he was one of the highest earners, if he’s still not, he’s been a great signing imo.
Mr reliable really, mostly always gives a solid performance and has seen off all comers.

a new deal on reduced terms makes sense - mix his game time with Maatsen and it all works out well :)

🚨 2 year extension for Lucas Digne.
@sachatavolieri

🚨 NEW: Lucas Digne has given his green light to extend his contract at Aston Villa — there are still details to be settled, but Villa want to close the operation quickly. @sachatavolieri

Excellent news.  There's been talk of us needing to move him on for two seasons or so, but he just quietly went about his business of being an extremely good leftback.  I'm delighted he's signed.  I suspect Maastsen will be less so, but he needs up his game more consistently.

I still feel that however high his ceiling might be, Maatsen was an odd signing when budgets are so tight.

There was definitely a bit of PSR fudge going on with the Maatsen / Kellyman stuff though.

Not quite as cynically as with us and Everton, but still there.
