Get digne off set pieces for the love of God

Dont think i have seen one individual do so many poor set pieces in one game in a while. Dougie was missed today for that side of game

Thought Digne put in a very thorough performance today and reference to Luiz somewhat futile.

Thought Digne was good today generally. Our set plays were pretty shocking whoever was taking them

Defensively he was ok.  But all his corners and free kicks were so bad today. I just do not understand why he continued to take them after seeing how bad they were

And the luiz comment was absolutely regarding the set pieces as he is so much better than digne at them so do not agree that it is futile

Yep, set pieces across the board were bad. Either it was poor execution, poor planning or missing the large lad of Onana. However to pick Luiz as missing from that side for set pieces meant he would have also been playing instead of one of the other players. And as we know he is poor defensively when we have no Kamara on, who would he have replaced.

And near enough all the set pieces yesterday were taken by one person. digne that was my point.

Youri took a few but digne wasted so many corners and free kicks yesterday.

On a seperate note that "dancing" freekick was embarrassing we looked a laughing stock when that failed. Thats the only issue when these kind of set pieces do not come off 😂

This season we'll probably become the club he's played the most for in his career. Still feels a bit like he's a new signing that we're bedding in.

Was not sure about Digne when we signed him, but he has been consistently good for the last two seasons. I hope we give him a new contract and keep him a few more years. it is great to have two very good options at left back, hopefully we can get to that on the other side next season.

Emery:
"We were getting through the left side with Ramsey and Lucas Digne. We were speaking in the dressing room to try improve the last passes into the box. Four times we had a good chance to score through them"

Digne contribution with the own goal was a great ball across.
Emery knows !

I really like him, but he could work on clearing the wall from free kicks.

I'm sure he used to bang in three or four free kicks a season for Everton. I suppose the version we've got is still better though, even without that extra string to his bow.
