Aye, but this is a Footy special (thank you) on Villa players so fair enough, much like we have ex-villa watch.

To diverge as ever, am on the continent atm* but no fervour here as the Cranes failed to qualify, am hoping to see SC Villa @ Vipers in Kampala on Weds, but they only let 200 people in in the UPL atm under Covid regs and lets just say it’s not straightforward to find out if and when adv tix go on sale, evening curfew ended recently and kids going back to school today after none since lockdown the week we left Uganda Feb 2020.

Am on a promise of a player issue SC Villa shirt, but allegedly the usual fan ones are widely available from the chain of chemists that sponsor them, in case anybody is after one?

It's disappointing for Burkina Faso and  Bertrand Traoré having Covid. However I don't know what that means for how long BT will stay because BF won out the second group game so they could still have chance upon qualifying next round.

There have been quite a few issues with Covid testing not to mention officiating in the AFCON so far

Egypt
Trezeguet played some minutes in the first match which they lost 1-0 to Nigeria but actually the 2nf group match Egypt play tomorrow 7pm

Burkina Faso and Egypt have both qualified from their groups progressed to round of 16

Jan. 23 Burkina Faso vs. Gabon 4pm
Jan. 26 Egypt v Ivory Coast 4pm

Egypt won today with Trez come off bench.

Good luck to Traroe and Trez
Jan 29 and Jan 30th are respective quarter finals if go through.

Surely this would have been a good time to have all the European internationals around this point and not the stop start

situation we have through the Autumn .  Maybe even the South Americans could have followed suit ?

I think FIFA need one calendar for international tournaments, maybe even all fixtures.

Bertrand should be considered in a more central role for Villa, as well. He’s a natural finisher..

Presumably timed to suit Europe and damn the rest of the world?
