We're going to be the bad guys again aren't we? Then in a a few days, the narrative will be all about how much love there is for Steven Gerrard at Anfield, and Villa fans should take note blah blah blah

I very much hope so. Looking forward to them whining at his reception.

Yeah, I hope there's much hand wringing in the meeja at those nasty Villa fans, and Pep rails about it in his passive/aggressive post defeat rant.

As anyone who's ever been to a game with me will no doubt testify, I'm not the most reserved of supporters but I'm fucked if I'm going to abuse a born-and-bred Villa fan who was brilliant for us. I was a gutted as anyone when he left but it was inevitable and we move on. If he dives and wins a penalty, if he scores and runs the full length of the pitch with a fucking hard-on well all that's another matter but for now I'll keep it shut. Can't be there tonight because I've got the virus but I'll be following somehow and hoping he has a mare - purely for practical reasons because he only means anything to me when he pulls on an England shirt and then he becomes super Jack again.

He's a bellend, he always was a bellend, but for a while he was our brilliant bellend. I don't actually bear him any ill will, in fact I'm surprisingly zen about it. But I'll boo him with the anger of a talk radio DJ discussing the mandatory wearing of masks, because I like the pantomime that is football.

Same here regarding the virus.
If I was going though I'd be more interested in supporting the team rather than giving dogs abuse to someone who used to play for us.

The two things aren't mutually exclusive, despite the efforts no doubt of some bellends on Talk sport claiming otherwise.

As long as Villa draw or win I don't give a Castlemine 4 X, until the final whistle of course, but I won't be there then because I be running to Aston station, but I advise everyone else to stay and give him loads

I have no problem with him leaving for greener pastures. It was all the "I'm a Villa man, it's my club, I admire Totti for staying at one club", etc, ad nauseum. He's disingenuous, speaking out of both sides of his mouth.

Not that I think he cares while he's counting his money all snuggled up with Sasha/Emily/Amber.

I'll be booing the twat from CT.

This is a free hit for us. Not expecting to get a result, so if we can get anything, it will be bonus.

I don’t think any game is a “free hit”, particularly if it’s at home. However, there is less pressure on this purely because we’ve bought ourselves a bit of breathing space with our last two results.

I won't boo him. He was brilliant for us for half a season in each of the previous 3 seasons & City paid us £100m for that.

Well the good news is the club has taken down that tweet, and are offering fans free tickets to their "Tribute to Steve Hodge" night as an apology.
