oof for Buendia and Ings. Looks defensive as possible like last time which is fair enough

They can't have any complaints. Our bench looks very strong with likes of Luiz back.

There is an element of if Dean picked that team we would be all doing a TonyD, but because it’s Gerrard we think ‘that’s interesting 🤔

Doesn't Zaha mainly play down their left side? So I can't see that Young is in to protect Targett.

Give it a run of losing and that will quickly change.

Good to be at the ground 1 mile from my home. Thanks to Dorset Villa and the Bournemouth Lion who couldn't make it this aft. Nice one, guys...

Gerrard said on interview that Ings has a few niggling injuries.

That's very true because I wasn't convinced about Young a few weeks ago. But I'm thinking if we have a better plan and system he can do the Job Gerrard wants. Could Ash swap with Bailey and help Cash against Zaha possibly.

The good thing is we have plenty of options off the bench.

So what's the point of him being on the bench?

I listened to the 1874 podcast a few weeks back just after Gerrard was appointed and Greg Evans was of the opinion that Ashley Young would play a bigger part than first anticipated and in a more advanced role under Gerrard and he appears to be correct.

Ings out due to injury according to commentator. Yet is on bench.
