I offer a heartfelt and meaningless apology to Matthew Cash. He's been fucking brilliant this season, and I did not see that coming.

I shall also sign this apology.

Means nothing until eamonn comes on here full of contrition.

He is such a critical player. We don’t have anyone who can cover what he does now.

I wanted him to go with thanks at the end of last season. He’s been brilliant this season, I know nothing

POTS thus far equal with Kamara who is now sidelined.

Critical goals at critical times this season too - against the form teams.

Yes me too. I have never rated him, but he has been our most improved player this year.

Absolutely, moved up a couple of levels. One of our best players now.

Worth noting that the shinny new RB replacements have done eff all too.  Only the lad at Brentford has impressed. £20-30m saved.

He was unbelievably good when he came on. In every single way. He’s by far my player of the season so far. Not convinced there’s a better right back in the league. So well-rounded now.

Has to be one of the best right backs around at the moment and all credit to him.
Those laser like pings across from right to left were fantastic to see. There seemed to be 3 in about a minute, all perfectly executed.

I get scared when he winds one up that his hamstring is going to go pop at some point.

Yes and we desperately need him to stay fit - there’s no one in the squad who adequately covers what he does.

As one of his detractors I am pleased to acknowledge how far he has come and probably the most improved player under Emery.
Was excellent again yesterday.

Something I'd memory-holed until the other day is that he was the runaway winner of Player Of The Season in 21-22.

Which, granted, wasn't the greatest season in our history but it does feel like he's picked up this reputation as someone who has always been a bit ropey who has only just started to become more consistent - which isn't really the case. He's someone who had a season where he struggled a bit to keep up with the same level of improvement as players around him, who got there a bit quicker.

Jacob Tanswell@J_Tanswell

Matty Cash ruled out of games against Brighton & Newcastle United with a knee injury. 28yo underwent scans post-Bournemouth and results showed nothing serious aside from inflammation. Hopes to return for Leeds on Feb 21.
