Another excellent performance from Cash and there seems to be a bit of an understanding forming with Guessand who also had a good game.

Guessand put in a real shift to help Cash defensively. A lot better at it than Philogene managed.

I'm often critical of him, but thought he had a good game today.

Been playing okay this season, not the obvious weak link of the past.

This working partnership is very encouraging, I think it could balance the team well as Sancho and Maatsen have shown very encouraging glimpses of them working in tandem on the other side.

Also, since he's been with us whenever the team has been in slump, his performances have generally been high, under Gerrard he was still good.

I think it speaks well of your character that you wrote this, Lee, because it takes a great generosity of spirit to imagine Matty Cash is anything other totally shit.

I presume you weren't at the game on Sunday, then?

Possibly poking a bee hive with a stick here, buy is it fair to suggest that Cash has been one of our best players this season?

He was our best defender last season too. Think he has improved hugely as a defender under Emery.

There are very few players that can pretend to make a right foot forward pass as well as Matty Cash.

Cut-back Cash? Never.

He’s been solid defensively for some time, but he’s no giddy Gidman.
