He was good enough for where we were & how we played, when he was bought. He's clearly not good enough for where we are or want to be. Teams are constantly exposing our right side. You could argue he doesn't get enough protection.

When there's two players constantly at our back stick with Konsa and Martinez hiding in the 6 yard box then I'm not sure what Cash is meant to do. Id suggest he stick to his own man and let others be found wanting if need be (e.g. McGinn - Newcastle first goal, Malen v West Ham).

Let's get the weaknesses out of the way, limited first touch, the chop and turn back inside to Konsa or Kamara, 5 or 6 touches when 2 would do - yes absolutely. Despite all the good positions he gets himself into he rarely threatens an assist or a shot to trouble the keeper, the assist v Arsenal with his left foot was such a surprise.

He's rarely Matty Rash anymore with those stupid slide tackles. Trossard roasted him but in the main he's solid defending in front of him these days. He has the pace and stamina to get back, when nearly every one of our players died on their arses in Monaco he was one of the few to keep going. Sure he can be improved upon but I don't get the criticism he gets compared to many others.

Almost forgot about his injury in the craziness of last night - hope it’s not a long layoff

Maybe we'll get a look at Garcia sooner than expected.

I thought he was tearing it up down the wing before he got injured.

Since the new guy arrived he has certainly upped his game which can only benefit the team.

Would play the new fella against dogheads

From the Spanish 2nd tier to a start vs D'heads?! Hmmm; not sure that'll work.

Don’t see why not, they’re at the level he’s used to

Best to have a specialist play in a specialised position.
If cash is out it is either the new guy or Ned. Think Bogarde is not a natural

Thought Cash was looking good yesterday and it’s our rotten luck that he breaks down again.

Yes, replacing Cash is probably more about him being injured a lot over ability now.

He's picking up too many injuries this season, all muscle injuries too. It's a real pity as he's playing his best football for us and the drop off when he isn't there is huge. Kosta hasnt worked obviously and we need genuine competition for Cash now.

A bit more on the ‘huge drop off’ (lol) when he isn’t there, as he hardly played in the CL:

Goals conceded:

1st: Inter (1)
2nd: Arsenal (3)
3rd: Liverpool (5)
4th: Villa (6)

All the other 32 teams: more.

How will we cope without him?

Hopefully not by putting Konsa there, as we’ll then have zero centre backs.

We’ll have four again soon.
