I'd take Ollie off but dean will think it will fuck his England time up ... He needs to stop the extra touches ....

That's a sign of lost confidence. It's not instinctive and decisive.

Midfield has got to improve though. Strikers need service and this 3 have given none so far.

Ings has had some good flashes and phenomenal moments but whole half-hour stretches can pass him by. Watkins has just looked off the pace a bit, and their link up hasn't really clicked.

Ings and Watkins have been dismal. Proper 3/10 performance from both of them. Not helped by the midfield though.
Is the correct answer.
Midfield had been shit, no one able to hold onto the ball or pick a pass.
For me, either Ings or Ollie off, I don’t which one, and bring Traore on…Somme who can carry the ball and spot a pass.

A bit better after the goal, but far from good enough, Dean seems to spend most of his time complaining to the 4th official, needs to concentrate on what the team are doing.

Service to the front two non-existent because the game is totally passing our midfield by. Awful defending for their goal to leave him unmarked.

Crowd is a dead as a doornail bar moaning about Cash's throws. Pull one back and they'll creak.

I got lambasted for suggesting Ings and Watkins doesn’t work, but I still stand by it. They have been making the same runs, running into the same spaces that now both are hesitating for a split second thinking the other one is making the run. They are too similar.

Revert to 4-3-3. Hause, Ramsey and Ings off replaced by Namamba, Buendia and Traore.

Watkins is like a fish out of water, going out left is useless he needs to stay front and centre. Ings has done a lot of work but there seems to be no real supply from midfield. DShas to make changes from the off and not wait til they score again.

Spurs, probably the better team but only slightly,  have had one good chance and they've taken it.  We've had a few half-chances but nothing clear cut.  Watkins has been shit, as has McGinn.  The aggression from last week at Old Trafford hasn't bee there since the first ten minutes. Maybe they're knackered.

Knackered? Spurs have played twice since our last game.

Let's not make cheap excuses. We've been poor and must get better surely?

Rotten so far. Can't really point at the formation to be honest. Too many players just off form.

to be that shite and still be in the game... that means they're just as shite as we were; if we sort it out with a few changes we can get something here.

Spurs are doing a Villa to us.  Pressing and giving no space.  Nuno has done his homework.

Everyone poor. Difficult to think it's the same team as last week.
Hopefully a tactical change by Deano in the second half. Villa fans quiet.

Well let's see if the manager has enough nous to change it around and players have enough character to turn it around on the pitch.

Our midfield three aren’t getting any time on the ball and haven’t really got into it. I can’t see how Ings and Watkins will work out as an attacking duo. Together they are less than the sun of their parts. I’d start with one on the bench for a proper option. I think this game would have been the one to try a 4–3-3 again.
