I resolved today to not follow the game as it was happening, and so discovered the result just after I'd put a couple of bottles of Proper Job in my basket at Waitrose.  If I'd been tuned in to the game Fernandes would have scored that penalty.  Have yet to decide whether I should watch the highlights later, as I don't want to jinx it.

Thank you for your sacrifice.

Did anyone else see Martinez doing the pelvic thrust toward the Yanited fans after the penalty miss?

YES! If anyone didn't - you should.

Some brilliant shithousery from him in the lead-up too (asking Ronaldo why he wasn’t taking it). I’m all for it.

Yes, was about to comment on that after just seeing the highlights. It was brilliant example of getting into the kickers head without even mentioning him.

Apparently Emi was asking Ronaldo if he was afraid to take the pen. Could be bollocks, but hilarious if true and he definitely spoke to him.

What a brilliant game. Been a long time since I enjoyed one against that lot of plastic twunts.

The whole team were superb, they worked their nuts off. Dean got his tactics right, and made some slightly earlier subs (Archer, yay!).

Also, as usual, the away fans did us proud. Could hear them all game long.

I'm going to thoroughly enjoy the rest of the weekend!

UTV!

Well he was definitely pointing at the ball and pointing at Ladyboy and seemed to do a movement of "I want you to take it" and then a dismissive "Hah" when CR turned away. But he essentially put Brunes off anyway as it made him wanting to blast it past Emi to "teach him a lesson" and I just saw the streak in the sky of the ball just now in Birmingham.

My son just rang me from outside the ground as he lives and works in Manchester so got a ticket through colleagues in their end. Feel chuffed to bits for him. UTV.

What a win. Deserved, and justice done on the pen, which was utterly stupid. Ole whining about our goal being offside and saying we should not crowd around Bruno is just about the most hypocritical bollocks I have ever heard.

We made the better chances. We deserved the win. Smith and the players deserve all the credit.

Solskjaer knows his job is on the line. He is feeling the heat.

It's getting a little warm ain't it Ollie, son.
