Decent first half, acquitted ourselves well.
Buendia and el ghazi are invisible but Bertie for all his faults is a class act.

Archer should have scored. Good movement though.

Bert looks good.

The ball from Bertie for the latest Cam chance was fucking brilliant, took about 4 defenders out of the game.

Traore going to be a really good impact sub for us this season when games are level and play is stretched. He does loads of silly things at times but less time on the pitch can also mean more likely he produces match winning assist as he's certainly capable.

An enjoyable watch. Can see Archer being a bit of a Delfouneso.

Another player in midfield second half, bin El Ghazi, his usual no fart no shit performance. Matty Cash, Traore and Sanson impressed, shame we had to lose the latter. That first chance for Cam, how many have we seen him put away in that position, almost his trade mark goal.

Wills and Sir Brian, an excess of Villa royalty.

We’ve done pretty well considering the team is such a disgrace eh?

People have really said that? I mean it was never going to be full 11 but we have plenty of internationals in there. Only query is given Konsa is on the bench I'm surprised Ings or Ollie aren't there for attack.

Archer has what all good strikers possess:the ability to get in goal scoring positions. And he's not put off by a miss.
It'll come.

We’ve comfortably had the two best chances. Both falling to Cam. He’s getting into great positions

Great to hear. Got no working stream so following it on here.

Probably should have scored the second one...nice turn but had a bit of time. Credit the keeper I guess, AEG was unfortunate the rebound was cleared off line by James

Very positive half all round with the exception of Sanson's injury. He looked our best player so that's a real blow for him. Traore is impressing me too, odd daft touch mixed with the odd genius one as always but looks a real threat. Set piece coach already having a positive impact.

I dont understand the logic of not having one or two senior players on the bench.  Lets be honest OT away we are likley getting nothing. I would have rather prioritised this game. Chelsea are there for the taking.

Good first half from back to front.

Sanson getting crocked is a real bummer - he looked really impressive. High work rate, plenty of challenges and great presence in the last third. We've got to get him fit.

We've looked better playing in a quick transition when we win possession on midfield instead of just hoofing it up. Cam and Anwar struggle to hold on to the ball with their back to goal.

Pity Cam didn't put one if his chances away. Third time lucky?

Mind you, they've got some serious/expensive firepower on the bench.

I think we may have missed our chance, their bench will be the difference.

BBC have Chelsea with 69% possession and us with 31%. Thankfully I am watching on a different channel where Villa have been the dominant team.
