Watching on +1 now, its Autumn 1979, and Crystal Palace stroll to a 2-0 win v Manchester City, with John Burridge in goal for Palace, signed from Villa, and Steve Daley (remember him?), playing for City having signed for a record fee from Wolves, and nicely demonstrating how awful he turned out to be.

Sunderland have just gone 2-1 up at home to Chelsea. There don't seem to be many Chelsea there but you can bet that in thirty years time a hooliebook will say how they ran riot.

Just caught up on yesterday's Wolves Villa highlights. Wolves 'legend' John Richards elbowing an 18 year old Brendan Ormsby right in the face with blood everywhere. Of course Ormsby got sent off for retaliating whilst Richards stayed on the pitch. Good to see the refs were impartial even then. Molineaux really was a shithole.

Think you might be mixing up the Wolves ground with a former leader of the UUP. ;)

I got my 11 year old to watch that with me last night, he couldnt work out why there was a huge mudbank on one side of the ground, brilliant.

Brendan Ormsby went to Ladywood Comp with my sister, she remains distant friends with his wife to this day, unfortunately hes been in very poor health for a number of years

I brought a Big Match DVD featuring Villa games from the Villa shop a few years ago.

Molineux always seemed to be stuck in the fifties. Circa 1979 we won three- or four-nil there on a horrible murky afternoon and as the fog rolled in it was like going back in time. You half-expected to see trolley buses on the way out.

I absolutely love our kit colours in tha last clip. The claret was proper claret and and the light blue was so vivid. Bring it back please Villa. And B6 have a version of that ATV symbol from the opening credits which I think is brilliant.
