Two realistic chances to win a trophy every season.

I’ll never understand the modern psyche that they’re not important.

Always remember hearing a Wigan fan on the radio when asked would you rather have stayed up than win the FA Cup. He said, “I can’t imagine telling the grandkids all about the year we finished 17th - I will be able to tell them how we won the Cup at Wembley though.

Trophies. That’s what it’s all about, for me.
Totally agree. I think its possibly a generational thing but younger fans don't get anywhere near as misty-eyed about the cups as older fans do - the thought of playing weakened sides in FA Cup quarterfinals in front of half-full stadiums and reduced ticket prices would have been rightly unthinkable back in the day. No-one will EVER tell me the game is the better for it.

Before we get so morally superior, think back eighteen months to our last final appearance and how many comments there were on here about distractions and rather lose the semi than a league match.
Well I wasn't one of them.
