Given the opposition i think Smith will have to go strong or face potential embarrassment, even against their reserves. However, with injuries from yesterday and Man u in mind, i also think he’ll use his squad.

Martinez

Cash
Tuanzebe
Mings
Young

Nakamba
Luiz
Ramsey

Buendia
Watkins
Traore

An unlikely 2-1 villa (Buendia, Watkins)

Solid team...Sanson still not even making our matchday squad. If he was fit then it could be a game to give Ramsey a breather.

           Steer
Cash Konsa Hause Young
 Luiz Nakamba Ramsey
 Buendia Watkins Bailey

I want to win it bit think the league cup should be for your back up keeper.

Buendia just edges above Traore for his defensive work.  If Bailey isn't fit to start then ElHhazi gets a run.

Cash, Targett, McGinn and Bailey all listed as doubtful. Makes me think we will play 4 at the back and Axel or Konsa at RB. Maybe Hause to start with Mings or Konsa getting a rest.

Chucky and JPB likely out and Sanson lost in the Bermuda Triangle.

Oh and obviously Keinan and Trezeguet out.

I’m torn on this one…I want us to go for the win with a strong team, but it’s a squad game and players need game time. I see no reason why Martinez and Buendia shouldn’t start having been away for a few weeks, but any player with a minor injury such as SJM and Bailey should be left out.

Martinez

Axel
Konsa
Hause
Young

Nakamba
Sanson (or Ramsey)
Buendia

AEG
Traore
Archer

We've now got a strong enough squad that even a "weakened" team should be a lot stronger than in previous years and capable of giving Chelsea a game, assuming they don't put out their full first team as well.

It's also a good sign that the players have embraced the new ideas and are keen to put them into practice.

Can just imagine what response he'd had if he'd been appointed under Remi Garde with the shithouses we had at that time.

Yes, I'd add some extra flour though, just to thicken the mix.

How in God's name have managed to post that here and not in the correct thread?

I'd go with cornflour in all honesty...

I don't want to see Steer in the team, he's just not that good, as was clear in our last fixture against this mob.  Otherwise go big or go home it's as simple as that.

I think it's probably a good idea to rest a couple of players, but I'd generally prefer we tried to actually win the thing.

Go 3-5-2 since that almost yielded results last time.

Martinez

Axel - Konsa - Hause

Traore - Buendia - Nakamba - Luiz - Young

Ings - Watkins
