Huff and puff. Plenty of the ball, but all too predictable in attack. Losing McGinn was problem because he's already wasted a sub by bringing on a defensive player, to an already unimaginative line up.
There's too much attacking quality on the bench to be playing 5 defenders. There's no one in midfield with that eye of the needle pass and we've just lost our best of the three players.
It's all a bit Southgate for me, minus having Sterling/Kane up top. Ings has worked very hard but is being wasted. No one is on who'll pick him out or draw defenders away.
Mings has been very good today and hopefully keeps his head on.
When you have the run of games we have coming though, and we're at home to Everton, with only 4 points from our first 12...why aren't we being more adventurous? Dean isn't supposed to be this pragmatic a manager. When did he turn into Steve Bruce?
