Maybe but we need 3 in midfield whatever happens imo. Kante may be out but midfield is hardly Chelsea's weak point especially when they've just took that guy from Athletico Madrid on loan

I've developed a visceral hatred for that formation. That said, you're probably right.

I'm not sure about the defensive two but feel that Ramsey doesn't deserve to be dropped, if fit, and Nakamba should be rewarded for his loyalty in putting club before country (not that this is a criticism of those who, understandably, wanted to play in the biggest game in international football).

Rewarding players for loyalty?! You'll be suggesting 6 at the back next! Players are rewarded by their enormous salaries, and the only other consideration should be whether they're good enough to be in the team, which Nakamba almost certainly isn't.

I don’t think Buendia is available after the farcical Brazilian International.

I worry if we have to play Ramsey and Nakamba in the middle of the park

We have to play Luiz and Ramsey ahead of Nakamba surely?

He was excellent last time we played them. I think he often plays better against the top teams.I don't think we have anyone better at doing the fairly simple thing of breaking up play. Which is ideal against a bunch of fancy dan tricksy types like they'll be picking against us.

Actually have a feeling we may win this one. Certainly will have a better idea about what team and formation Smith is likely to go with as we have Ings, Watkins and Bailey all available. Pleased Ramsey is back as he was very good last game he played.

I agree he does make a Nuisance of himself and breaks up play
Problem is when he wins the ball he often just gives it straight back to them
Which doesn’t help Especially against a team like Chelsea

As Nelson Lodge pointed out on the Women's team thread, this game is on Sky Showcase so if you have a basic package without sport you can still watch.
