Think Archer did far more than Wesley would have done. Lot pacier too.

Great performance. Reminded me of watching the youth team demolishing teams in the cup last year, and further evidence we have a 'golden generation' on our hands. Special mention for the final goal, that assist from Philogene-Bidace was absolutely filthy, Iniesta-like. After a lung busting run from inside his own half at the end of the game too. And of course what a moment for Archer to put it away. The smile on Deano's face said it all.

I think I'm right in saying Cam has the honour of being the first player, born this century, to score for Villa.

No. That was Louie Barry.

Played well enough. Set one up with a really good cross and got forward to hammer one home. I hope we keep him around.

Six of the 14 who played are under 20 which shows the investment in the academy is beginning to bear fruit.

Oh just seen the stats. Not a single corner in entire 90 minutes absolutely disgraceful.
Typical Villa, wasting money on a set piece specialist coach…😉
Great performances by the youngsters. I hope we get another lower league draw and give them more game time.

I suspect the phones will be going bonkers in the morning with clubs desperate to get a few of our youngsters on loan off the back of that performance, every single one of them played well and looked too good for league 2.

I’ll be really interested to see who Dean decides to keep around the first team, and who goes out on loan, because I’d be happy seeing all of them on the bench in the premier league!

Great performance and very proud of the youth. Chuffed for Legion, Archer and his family.

Well, that was entirely satisfactory wasn’t it. These ties are, in the main,  a complete no-win - lose and you get ridiculed, win and it’s only what should be expected - but to win in style with some shining performances from our next generation is about as well as it could have gone. The standout with Bidace, Chuck and now Archer is how at ease they seem in the first team. Encouraging.
