Wish Grealish had fucked off before the euros, the little c*nt
Me too. We could have got into a better mindset far earlier and not had that circus end of July early August.

To think I was pissed off because Southgate wouldn’t play him too. I’m sure I’d have enjoyed the tournament more if he was no longer one of us.

Exactly this

Forget us winning…Lawro has us down for a 2-0 win.
When DS said Ollie may be fit for the Brentford match, I’m assuming he means the away game with them as looking like another Villa mystery injury?

Is the dreaded three at the back worth considering here given injuries? Like we saw in the championship, Tuanzebe is more than capable of creating an extra man in midfield with the ball.

------------Martinez
----Konsa, Tuanzebe, Mings
Guilbert, Luiz, Ramsey, Young
--------McGinn, Ings, Buendia

Give McGinn and Buendia a bit more freedom to attack the likes of Clark one on one. Appreciate there is more chance of Sasa Curcic playing ahead of Guilbert under Smith...but Cash can't continue to be an automatic first pick if his poor form continues. Have a horrible feeling Smith will fudge it and put Konsa or Tuanzebe in there instead.

Rather play JPB than AEG after last weeks pathetic performance from him

I'd like to see JPB get a go.

Last season we beat these at home very easily with Luiz and Nakamba in midfield (McGinn was suspended).

Dosen't say much for this season if we can't beat them with all of Buendia, Bailey, Ings, McGinn all available.

Yes key battle will likely be Saint Maximn v Young but hopefully we'll have some sort of plan for that.

Not win this and it's going to be a pretty difficult few months up to December I think. Win well and that will settle everyone down.

That's the danger with fawning over one player sometimes and thinking he's the centre of the universe as now the mindset is we can't do anything or win any games even though we have some very good players still at the club. Far too early for that sort of mentality to creep in but we obviously need 3 points soon otherwise it will be a justifiable opinion.

Highly likely that despite plenty of warnings/requests from the club to arrive early to give time for COVID entry precautions to be completed there will be a good number of fans outside VP at 3pm trying to get in. Walsall Rd is a building site and Sod's Law says there'll be a problem on the motorway network - particularly with the crap weather forecast.

If this fues happen then let's hope common sense prevails and West Mids finest liase with the ref to get KO put back.

Vital they keep fans inside and outside VP informed about what's going on. We don't want the first day back to be marred by anything untoward.

Also worth mentioning that street parking on the Lichfield Rd side of the ground is much reduced post Covid due to the development of the Industrial units around Aston Hall Rd.

What are the Covid entry precautions ? Is there anything we need to do ahead of time?

We’re playing Steve Bruce’s Newcastle not PSG. That’s not to be complacent but we know that they’re likely to sit and try to hit us on the break so no need for us to be too negative.

Honestly don't think it would have made any difference.  Infact, may have made it harder to get Buendia in.

We've known for plenty long enough that he was likely to go.

Wonder how Buendia feels about how that worked out.

A mate's staying at the Hyatt in Brum tonight, and the Newcastle team are there too. He's been given full instructions to set off the alarms at 2am.

If they can sleep through Steve Bruce's snoring, a fire alarm won't be any problem.

Yeah, we did say that they'll probably sleep soundly after Bruce has given them a session on tactics.
