We really need some game time to get into a rhythm, some good performances and Smith to be able to prove to us all he can cope with out Joe.

No proper preseason hasn’t really helped us at all and that opening 45 minutes was a real reality check that we’ve got a lot to do. A win will do us so much.

Honestly don't think it would have made any difference.  Infact, may have made it harder to get Buendia in.

We've known for plenty long enough that he was likely to go.

Me too. We could have got into a better mindset far earlier and not had that circus end of July early August.

To think I was pissed off because Southgate wouldn’t play him too. I’m sure I’d have enjoyed the tournament more if he was no longer one of us.

'Undercooked'.wtf does it even mean. What he's saying is that several, well paid professional players are unfit at the begining of the new season which is totally unacceptable.

Bailey is not fully fit, but hopefully will have another sub appearance at least. I'd love to see JPB, but fear it will be AEG again. If so, he has to play on the left. All he's good at is cutting inside and shooting with his right foot or ghosting in at the back post for an occasional tap in. Playing him on the right is a complete waste of time.

Undercooked is pathetic and unprofessional. Anyone under cooked needs to be fined.

Agree Wolfman, very poor planning regarding the pre-season. We seem to be the only club in this situation. Luiz in particular should really be ready to start by now.

I’d say lacking in match fitness. Targett and Traore had ops in the summer so expected. Bailey was nursing an injury when we signed him and the fit players had only two preseason matches.

I certainly get it.

A lot of nerves for tomorrow, both the team and the fans.  Can see a tight game wouldn't rule out a draw

Important we win this one. Coming out of games against Watford and Newcastle without a win would be a really bad start. It’s especially important we start getting positive results quickly otherwise belief in the post Grealish era will quickly evaporate.
