No Watkins.  If Bailey is fit then hopefully it will be:

Cash   Konsa    Mings    Targett

                 Luiz
     Mcginn         Ramsey

Bundia         Ings          Bailey

I think until we get in a proper DM Dean won't risk just playing Luiz there and more likely double up with SJM with Ramsey playing behind the strikers. Either way, at least on paper, it's still a bloody good team.
Agree, I was thinking a fairly interchangable flatish 3, but would just expect McGinn and Ramsey to be a bit more advanced.

If we start tomorrow with the same side that played last week I think we'll get turned over.

According to the BBC website Sanson might be back.

Is Willock likely to play? I assume so as opposition "doubtful"=will play and probably score whereas Villa "doubtful"=out for at least a month.

Yes, agree with your thinking here.

Lampard? heh
For goodness sake! we need to be forward-thinking; not go to a guy who wasn't very good at Derby and couldn't make all of Chelsea's talent work for him.
If - a big if - Smithers were to go, I'd expect Shakey to take over as interim and for someone like Potter to be recruited on a permanent basis.

After that press conference, I’ll admit I’m a little concerned about tomorrow.

So, Watkins bruised knee will be this season's mystery injury following JG's shin injury last season? If so, expect Ollie back in the New Year! What a mess so far with injuries, lack of pre-season warm-up games and first team coaches departing....

Read that DS said Luiz will be “managed” as he’s only had a couple of training sessions with us. Looks like the only Brazilian player that came back from the olympics that can’t play just yet.
Expected return dates for our injured players…between Xmas and the end of the season, the usual Villa way.

To be fair, he's not had much of a break at all and we've got a whole season ahead of us. It might be a wise thing to do, we don't want to knacker him out.
