The start of a new is generally quite busy for us nerdy types. Just been updating my records.
The Watford game will be our 1001 premier league match. Here's our record for the first 1000:

Our record is pretty garbage against a lot of teams... Having said that, we've a 100% Premier League record against Swindon!

We've lost more than we've won and we have a negative goal difference. Fcuking shit. Right...let's go back to 1992 and start again...

Mark Lawrenson's prediction comments for this were quite amusing. "Aston Villa looked like an established Premier League side by the end of last season" - yes, because earlier in the season when we were beating Liverpool 7-2, winning 3-0 at Arsenal and generally spending all of our time in the top half of the table we didn't look like an established Premier League side at all.

Unfortunately he's predicted us to win so I can only forsee gloom.

He can't win!

1-1
And a bit of a reality check.
I also think a draw on grounds of new starters but sounds like you would be as happy as a pig in shit if we lost.

What reality is being checked exactly?

That top six is fanciful and get back to your midtable mediocrity.

hoping to hell I'm wrong and I come home with a smile on my face.  Difficult game in a ground with not a lot of atmosphere.  I would fancy us more if Watkins was fit.

We'll twat these by a few, I reckon. Our back 5 will continue where they left off, and Watford won't get a sniff. Comfortable and convincing 0-3, and we're off and running.

They won 19 out of 23 at home last season. Fair fucks.

According to Gregg Evans at the Mail Buendia and Bailey will both be available tomorrow, though Bailey surely won't be ready yet?

The Villa side will take a little time to bed in; Watford will have the promoted-club bounce. 2-2.

Lots of positive news that all the new signings are available.

Watkins a doubt.

Tend to agree with you but I can’t see Watford scoring twice against us.

we know Watford will be right up for it
they will come out to have a go from the off
if we know that surely Dean does as well

That’s why I’ll be disappointed if we are getting steamrollered in the first 30 mins
and the match thread is littered with stuff like
‘We haven’t turned up’
‘we don’t look fit’
‘Dean needs to sort this out’
‘we were always going to struggle to find our feet without Grealish’

That would piss me right off
We need to fight fire with fire
Dean needs to have them ready and prepared ready to take the game to Watford
we have the quality to do so
if we don’t hit the ground running we will be chasing the game again and we all know how that normaly works out

 Result - no idea
but we should  be winning with our players and squad

No excuses
