True. But part of his gift was coming up with new routines and constantly switching it up.

The timing of the goals for was often crucial as well. See Liverpool at home and the opening goal against Freiburg as the most recent examples.

The goal against Freiburg was something he'd tried and failed back in March with Portugal.

We've just got to go and find a replacement. I'm pretty confident we will.

I wonder how much set piece coaches are paid?
Do they get paid on goals?

I wouldn’t have thought so. There might be a bonus.

I don't think the actual figure is out there, but he was estimated to be on £250k p.a. at Villa.

Yep, people seem to forget that doubling your wages from £250k a year to £500k a year - to a normal human being - changes your life FAR more than someone doubling their wages from £50k a week to £100k a week.

He's done a really good job, but the job he 'created' (or at least the job he made famous enough that people now talk about it), is now being done by quite a few coaches at a number of clubs, and I don't doubt the club has an eye on a replacement, either in-house with someone who worked closely alongside him, or externally.
