I think it's a big stretch to say Mings was heading it to Bailey, I think he was trying to create a bit of havoc in the hope that we might pick up the pieces.

That was the verdict on Irish TV when they analysed it. We split left and right into two groups of three to leave more space in the middle when it was knocked back, with Bailey running from out wide into the space created. The runs from the three on the right also dragged their defenders towards the goal

He was heading it back into a gap that was created by the movement of our players. It might not have been explicitly designed to fall to Bailey but it was pretty clearly a plan to give us a chance of someone getting to the 2nd ball in space. That's probably true for the vast majority of set pieces, where we'll have worked on a number of variations depending on who found themselves free.

Yep, if you watch the replay and watch Rogers' movement, you can see that he's anticipating some sort of knockdown into that same area before the ball even reaches Mings, so my guess is they know the rough area Tyrone is trying to put it, and the set piece is trying to get at least two players coming from different directions to arrive there.

I’d suggest thats down to Bailey’s inadequacy as opposed to any wrongdoing on MacPhee’s behalf.

Our first good opportunity came from a direct kick.. Mings just couldn’t steer it to a corner. I thought it was pretty clever.
