He has no spark, is very predictable, way off the pace and so far away from being a premier league player right now. Bring him on yesterday after the Leeds performance into a game like the wolves one, is one of Emery’s dumbest moves since he became our manager.

Emery is making a number of odd decisions at the moment but putting Bailey on the pitch is the main one. He is so utterly devoid of anything resembling a top level player that it is bewildering to see Emery putting him out there.

He set-up the winner against Brighton - unofficially, because for some dumb reason a goal deemed as an OG can't have an assist.

I hope McGinn is back soon because I can’t take any more Bailey. I think he’d struggle in the Championship nowadays.

I like the guy. Utw just such a shame that his confidence has gone.

I do wonder if it's because of Emery. The system is about control and building up and Bailey isn't that. All he seems to offer is trying to cut inside and cross and everyone knows that's what happens. I wonder if he's told not to go round the outside. Not to try a dribble and that Rogers is the only one allowed to do that.

It's similar to Joe at City, take his best attributes (and element of risk) away and there's nothing left. Sancho does at least retain possession and find a pass with lots of close control and one-twos.

We're unforgiving too, so would he be better given free reign? I think so but he'd still lose it a lot.
