Desperate times etc. the hope is he realises his career is in freefall and knuckles down. Not letting kids bully him like that West Ham cup game last season. Emery had given up on him so odds on this being a successful return are low enough.

He is back because no one wants him and I doubt Uni is jumping for joy.

True, but we might have said the same about Emi.

I agree it’s low chance - but at least we’ve seen him be good, unlike Guessand.

If he puts in one good performance the crowd will love him. Just that the Bailey who left us looked broken and defeated. I’d like to thing he has an exciting and positive chapter yet to write but it’s hard to see it. And the injuries haven’t helped either.

Let's hope he comes back and feels he has a big point to prove.

It will be the jump out of the tackle stakes with Sanjo and Bailey.

True but Emi always had a bit of grit about him. Lack of mental resilience has always held Bailey back. Hard one to fathom. Very talented player at his best, starting or off the bench.

Well it's clear we have taken this action to bring him back rather than us being forced to, so we must see him as being capable of offering something.

I've always liked him. Welcome back, Leon.

(Fully expect him to be loaned or sold before playing another minute for us now I've said that).

Maybe he's off to Turkey, p/ex.

We need to get wheeling and dealing for sure.

It’s all set up for a beautiful redemption story.

Six months after being unceremoniously dumped by us, he comes back revitalised and with a point to prove, scoring in every game before grabbing a last minute winner from 25 yards top bins against Man City to clinch the title. Celebrates by flicking Vs at Emery, Tony Morley style.

I can see it now.

Bailey has been injured/crap for his entire spell at Roma, it's hard to be too positive about this!
