He could become part of a formidable, game changing subs.
Perhaps 20 + minutes runnng at tired defences will give him and us a lift.
We know the ability is there, just the application and confidence lacking.

He was effective in that way in the first half of last season. I think you’re right that could be the best spot for him until the end of the season.

Interesting to see how he lines us up on Saturday, will any of the new players get time on the pitch?

Just to pop Bailey up before he drops off the page. Not the best attacking wise and his pass to Garcia that one time was atrocious. However defensively he helped out well and was the player bursting out of defending to win some of the balls, and his pass to Malen for the second was sublime. He will really need to up his game to keep ahead of Asensio or Malen going forward, but definitely not a spent flush he seemed the first half of the season.

He was much better today, that's as far as I'm prepared to go at the moment.  We can't just ignore the rest of the season.

Yep he’s started to get a bit more energy and confidence back to his game.

I thought he looked mroe relaxed and sharper today.  and I wondered (probably bollocks) - but maybe having some other players there takes the pressure off.

In that if hes not at his best, there are other options.  Maybe that works for him - maybe he feels less pressure if he knows other good players can replace him.  i.e. rather than - shit I have to perform otherwise were fucked.  Its ill give it a go, if that doesnt work then Unai can bring on a 3 time UCL winner so the team should be fine.

Porbably not but just a thought

Really wanted to score yesterday but just didn’t seem to have the power to beat the spurs keeper.

For me , he's the next guy we Cash in on , I'd suspect he'd love a move to Saudi. Another £80-90m would be great .

He very much was last year though so he’s got it in his locker. There obviously comes a time where you admit it’s not working (& that might be the summer) but he’s frustrating because we know what he can do. I think he was better this week because Garcia was a bit more willing to do overlapping runs and free up space for him.

A noticeable improvement this week. Progress.
