I did wonder if he wasn't entirely well yesterday.

I said as much earlier in the thread, he looks fatigued. Injured or ill?

I don't see why he would be fatigued from minutes played.  But he was so off it I did wonder if he'd been ill.

Gently placing this here: https://twitter.com/johntownley11/status/1770765919217733983

My how quickly they forget. It's only thanks to Unai's cavernous reserves of coaching work and patience that Leon has recovered from almost unthinkably terrible to being as good as he is now. But you want to go to Massive Clubs like Chelsea, fine, we'd get good money for him now.

Not our local paper trying to sell our best players again.

It's their favourite thing! Who are we to begrudge 'em.

I said a while back in the FFP thread that if we do need to make a big sale this summer then he's far more the obvious candidate than DL, Ramsey, Watkins et al.

His stock will never be higher than it currently is, and it's not impossible that he's just having his Amr Zaki season rather than being the next Mo Salah.

I don't want to have to look to check, but I'd not be in the slightest surprised if I found out they'd regurgitated a quote from when he first arrived.

Not our local paper trying to sell our best players again.

Not trying to sell as much as taking the quote out of contect to get the engagement.

Anyway full quotes so no one else has to. (And before the bedwetters start).

Quote
Asked on the Let’s Be Honest Podcast if Bailey would be interested in a move to Chelsea in the near future, he replied: "You have big teams in England, they call themselves the big six. The Arsenals and the Chelseas. It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League and I am right now.

“Who wouldn’t want to go to a massive team? Especially coming out of Jamaica, do you know how big that is for the country? Especially being who I am as well.

“It would shine more light and that has been my focus whenever overseas. It is to use my platform to be able to shine light on the country and the young talents. It’s difficult for us Jamaicans to even make it to Europe.

"I don't know how to answer that question, but I'd have to see in the moment.”

He also stated.

Quote
“I’ve been really focused on being at Aston Villa and finishing the season strong," Bailey said on the Let’s Be Honest Podcast. "It has been one of the best seasons in my career.

“You never know in football, but I am comfortable, happy where I am at. I focus on one thing at a time. I want to continue contributing. Who knows what happens in the future."

Something like.  ‘James Maddison point made as Villa pursue options.’

Actual story Villa are on the lookout for new grounds man after Maddison slipped over at Villa Park.
