Obviously we see Roadie's influence on some set-pieces when it is out of the normal thing (McGinn's recent jumping jacks thing), and I can't remember the last time we conceded from a corner which must also be down to him. But I wished we scored from more of them.

Torres has scored from a few hasn't he? Moreno against Legia, Carlos in Europe too from memory. If you look at the height of our team now, I don't think we are ever going to be as strong as MONs team for example. I think we do a very good job defensively for the same reason with Watkins very strong on the front post, Martinez clearing house in the 6 yard box and rest doing their jobs blocking off runs etc

Carlos again Alkmaar was a corner, but Moreno and Torres' were free kicks (the Wolves one after a bit of time had passed).

After scoring against Bournemouth and Manchester City, Bailey has provided match-turning assists against Arsenal and Brentford in a quietly brilliant December. He is among the 10 Premier League players to have reached double figures for combined goals and assists, managing the feat in (booyaka, booyaka) 619 minutes – almost half that of the next man on that list in terms of playing time, Hwang Hee-chan (1,227 minutes).

In terms of Europe’s big five leagues, the extensive list of players with more than a couple of league starts and a better rate of goals and assists per 90 minutes than Bailey (1.36) is down to Deniz Undav (1.43), Serhou Guirassy (1.75) and Harry Kane (1.83). Shame Emi Martinez saved that late shot really. Great awareness to spot him off his line.

Fair play to Bailey also, for not making more of that tackle by Mee than he might have done (mind you, it almost saved Mee from a sending off). Similarly in the game v Bournemouth, when he was pulled back, and the Bournemouth player should have got a second yellow. Had Bailey made more of almost having the shirt ripped off his back, the referee would probably have issued the second yellow.

Honestly wouldn't go that far.  He has had outstanding moments in games, but still too many games where he has been largely poor throughout.  Absolutely no idea what he was doing with that backpass yesterday, but then he puts in the cross for the goal.

His job for the team right now tis to make a difference in the final 3rd, he's doing that as well as anyone in the league. For me he can sit and have a picnic in the centre circle for 85minutes every week so long as the other 5 minutes sees him getting the sort of goals and assists he's given in the last month.

Harsh...the lot of a winger is that they can disappear, exasperate, go down blind alleys etc. but if they're consistently productive (and an assist or a goal every game, even when he's a sub a lot of the time) is pretty difficult to argue against. Plus he's discovered the existence of his right foot. The man's a myth-buster. Leon the (future) Legend.

Yeah, I agree.

I have been critical of Bailey in the past, but it's pretty much impossible to not be very impressed with his assists and goals statistics this season!

It's his attitude overall that has completely changed. He seems to have really bought into his role. Emery has clearly helped him understand his value, be it as a starter or coming off the bench. It's been great seeing him start to show us the full range of his abilities.

He now has an end product - regular goals and assists - that was missing at the start of his time with us.

Diaby now seems to have that problem.
