Briliant tonight, a player who has clearly improved. I'd imagine even the posters who were calling him to be kicked out of the club at the earliest opportunity have had a change of heart.

I can't remember at what point it was that I wrote him off, but I absolutely wrote him off, and I've never been so happy to have been so wrong. Tonight was an incredible display.

Yep, I’m eating that hat right now too.  His dancing feet showed a swagger that would have looked ridiculous before, now teams shit themselves.  He has slowly built up his confidence and seems to buy into the emery way.

His best game in a Villa shirt - well done Leon.

Nights like tonight is why I refuse to slag off players when they're in a bit of a rut.  Give them some time, sometimes they can turn it around, get some confidence, and look absolutely unplayable.  What a performance!

World Class play today. Man City couldn't live with him. Deserved that goal today.
Player of the match today and rightly so.
He was looking emotional in his interview and so pleased for him.
Emery asked more Bailey and he's stepped up.

The player we all hoped we were getting from Leverkusen. We'll hear all about Rodri not playing for them and all the rest of it.

But with their industrial levels of cheating they still possess pretty much the best squad in the world.

Our Leon made 'em look like mugs tonight.

Not a minority of fans either, and after two indifferent seasons you can't blame em. Amazing turnaround. As Unai said post match, he demanded more from Leon and he's taken it on board.

I'm so happy for him.  He's doing everything right at the moment.  Chasing everything, pressuring the ball, tricks, flicks, shots, playing with his head up and a smile on his face.  Please stay injury free Leon!

Not only was that Leon's best game in a Villa shirt, but I'd put it amongst the best performances I've seen from a Villa player in yonks. Sensational performance tonight, absolutely out of this world.

He's always had it. You don't have a debut like that without having it. Sometimes you need someone special to unlock a genius. Well played (again), Leon.

Some very nice flicks and tricks and twinkle-toed ball control too.

So direct and dynamic for his goal. Nothing less than he deserved.

I’ve been critical of him during his time with us, but he was excellent tonight.  Looked a real threat all night.
