He should've lobbed the keeper when he had the chance

If the opportunity had been on the other side we’d have 24 points right now. It was very fast, a defender draped all over him, a keeper racing out in the last seconds of the game on his weaker side. Maybe he should have scored but it’s been made out by some like it was an open net. It wasn’t.

It as a bad miss for a Premier League striker, at the very least he should have got it on target.

He’s not really a striker though, and I’ve seen actual PL strikers miss easier chances.

I think that’s splitting hairs, he’s in the team to score goals. From the Lower Holte I had a really good view and he just completely fluffed it. His own reaction at the final whistle shows that the player himself knows he should have done better.

Agree. I had a similar vantage point and wouldn’t class it as missing a sitter but it was a woeful effort at this level. It perfectly summed up his contribution for the entire game and I’m an admirer of Bailey.

He’s done some spectacular things that will get you out of your seat, I love players like that
But in the main his decision making and end product have been poor and make him a frustrating player to watch

has had some great performances, but he’s far too inconsistent for me at the moment

Lacks composure. Has had panic attacks a number of times this season when in front of goal. Costing us points.

Emotionally overwrought.  :'( :'( :'(

Needs to 'Man up' or should be shipped out.

The two efforts he had against Liverpool were terrible as well. Really bad "swing and a miss" type cock ups.

He gets it on target and there's more than a 70% chance he scores. Even the defender wouldn't have covered the post or might have shinned it in.

I actually think it’s the other way round.
70% the defender stops it.

If it's on target it's in as the only thing right about the effort was the amount of pace he had behind the ball.

This is right, but i also think in the few games he’s played on the left he’s be intermittently sensational, Brentford etc

£30m we paid for this clown. Whoever agreed this fee at Bayer Leverkusen must be absolutely wetting themselves. Whoever agreed this fee at Villa really needs sectioning. Imagine a proper Villa winger Tony Morley's face watching Bailey repeatedly fall over, slice the ball miles wide, give the ball away or misplace another pass. If he ever plays for Villa again it'll one game too many. I'd honestly rather see El Ghazi, Trezeguet or Traore back.

I defended his miss the other night and his emotions after. The miss wasn’t as bad as made out and I liked that he cared enough to react as he did. But FUCK ME. That was as bad a performance by Villa player as we have seen in a very long time. He did not do one thing right. Even the simplest stuff was nothing but a calamity. He needs spell on the bench because he’s not worth anything more. Utterly dreadful
