Awful yesterday. Passes when he should dribble and dribbles /sorry, attempts to dribble) when he should pass, often losing possession.

It would help if we didn't leave him fifty yards from the nearest player. We don't play with a target man so not sure what the point in playing a winger is under our current "tactics".

I keep saying, playing him with our slow build up is pointless. He is receiving the ball facing the wrong way with at least one defender closing and another crowding him out.
The few times we have seen him in space running with the ball he looks effective and our best move yesterday was his cross to Coutinho.

That was exactly what I said to my brother after the game

He nearly assisted with his right foot, leading to a Coutinho gial of the season contender! I'll take that and forget the running into trouble and blind alleys.

And had Ollie not got in the way he had laid on a perfect cross for McGinn coming in at the far post.

The point is that he could beat a man once in a while and pass the ball into the area. His one decent moment yesterday came when Leeds had ten men on the pitch. He's been an utter disaster of a signing. Along with Ings and to a lesser extent Buendia, we wasted every penny of the Grealish money.

Both Smith and Gerrard had/have no idea how to use Bailey, Ings and Buendia.

It's very strange.

Buendia is a class act, and I think Bailey could be, too. Ings, I have never seen the point of.

Oh for a decent manager

I have been giving the Bailey the benefit of a doubt until now, as he picked up an injury and couldn't find form last season. However the evidence thus far this season is that is a giant waste of money. Looking at badly Sancho has done at Man Utd I do wonder if the German league isn't just pants, and he looked better than he is playing there.

Ings and Bailey have been very poor signings, and Buendia although quite good is not playing as Coutinho is better. What a waste of a once in a generation cash injection!

I don't think there's a manager alive who's going to get much out of Ings, he looks completely finished, like a 38 year old kept around for his experience.

He wasn't great yesterday but still too early to call him a disaster of a signing, IMO. Hopefully he will get a new lease of life under a new manager.

Bailey is a pass to the opposition.

Bailey is another victim of the midfield structure - the central 3 are essentially doing the same thing and are too deep. It means the likes of Bailey end up completely isolated and it makes it impossible.

We do seem to have tightened up at the back, but at the expense of there often being gaping chasms between our midfield and strikers.
