David Owen was phenomenal.

Oh mate, what happened to you? I always had you down as a proper leftie.

Aaaargh! I am suitably chastened. I made a similar mistake many years ago on the cricket thread re the seam bowler Sidebottom, calling him Frank.

To be fair, I was a big fan of the Beat Combo "The Gang of Four". Sometimes Shirley Williams turns up in nightmares.

Any news on his return? When are we looking at?

I'm sure there was something when he got injured suggesting he'd be back in March but I can't find it anywhere now so maybe I dreamt it.

Either way I feel for him he's got loads of talent but injuries are threatening to ruin the move before he's really had a chance to show what he can do. It's particularly annoing because he had no previous record for the sort of injuries we've seen.

If he gets fit he'll prove his quality I think. Really hope he can get fit.

At least there'll be no pressure to bring him back early, given the current first choice front three and those on the bench.  I can't wait to see him fully fit and running at tiring defenders, but we're a much better attacking unit now than when he got injured.

Not sure he will easily fit into Gerrard’s preferred formation.

But at the very least a dangerous option off the bench.

When teams are knackered after running after shadows with the likes of Phil and Emi, to then have Bert with his trickery and especially Leon with his pace to bring  - defenders will shit it

We have yet to see a fully fit Bailey.   believe he could be an incredible player if we can just keep him on the pitch.

Leon Bailey might make the bench at Newcastle.  But he's had no match practice?

He's probably going to pull a hamstring when he sits down.

Even if it's just for 10-15 mins, will be good to have him as an option to come on. Chucky and Young the last day were so bad.
