Buendia, our record signing, relegated to the bench? T'int right, Tom.

Just can't see it with Buendia Eamonn, not if we are looking seriously at breaking into the top six.  Has some lovely touches at times, but gives the ball away far too often.

He gives it away more than Ratboy. We were blessed with someone who could hold it, and possession, so well.

Anyway, with all these choices, defences will have a bloody handful knowing who to mark.

                  Ings/Watkins

Bailey           Coutinho              Buendia

Get a song out of those players and we're a match for anyone in this league.

That was the thing with Greasy, he rarely if ever gave it away.

Maybe do that when we're chasing a game but that's not how Gerrard usually sets-up.

Agreed, I don't think we'll be setting up with those three.  I think it will be two from Coutinho, Buendia, Bailey and Traore.  Then one from Ings and Watkins up top.  That is great depth and I'm pretty happy with that.

If we were to play with a more traditional 10 as per above then we would need a really solid double pivot - Luiz and Bissouma for example (who I don't think will come but that type of player).  Doesn't leave much room for McGinn, Ramsey, Sanson or Chuck.

Looks ok to me.

Coutinho has played as more of a box-to-box option at times so I think there will be times where we see him, Buendia and Bailey or Traore all ont he pitch together but probably as more of a 'first change' option than as the starting lineup.

I think you're right with that, Gerrard used to regularly use Joe Aribo as either one of the 10's or one of the cm's depending on the opposition or match circumstances.

That certainly is stronger than we were a few games a go. SG insists on us having to stop leaking goals so i would expect considering Digne is really an attacking improvement an additional CH at some point

I predict he'll never play a full 90 minutes for us!

Of course he will be. He’s a speedster and they can get muscle injuries that linger. When he was fit, albeit briefly, he looked superb. I think we forced him back too quickly given how shit things were becoming and it worsened things after his injury vs Everton.
