He's played 420 minutes of football for us.  The equivalent of less than 5 matches. He's had an unlucky start to his career with us but let's not say he's a waste of money. He's not been blighted by injures in the past.

Maybe let's get him fit and then see what he can do before writing him off eh? Perhaps the injuries are to do with our backroom not getting him sorted properly.

And in those 420 minutes he’s arguably won us 4 points.

Well I guess hopefully his injury can be treated and his rehab better managed as we are in less of a panic to rush him back. We may see him fitter and better prepared come early new year. There’s definitely a player there and by the sounds of it he’s never been injury prone before, so it may well be just very bad luck for him and us.

I think he will benefit from a full pre season with us, one that’s designed to prepare the player’s body for the rigours of a PL season. He signed for us on the 4th August and made his debut 10 days later so like many new signings they struggle to adapt to the demands of the PL without adequate preparation.

I’m not writing him off yet, if we are in a similar position this time next year then my view may change.

And so far he's injured himself kicking the ball and running back into his own half.

Christ almighty. He also scored a fantastic goal and assisted another. But you keep seeing the worst in everything if it makes you feel better.

Do you want to sell him in January?

strange to have a player injured so often without really being involved in a bad tackle or anything.
He needed a proper pre-season.

I've just had a look at his career appearance record and apart from one season, it's not as if he's been injury prone up to now. He made over 40 appearances last season so as frustrating as it may be, he may just be having some Sanson type bad luck.

My main concern is that they keep releasing these players for international duty when they are obviously not fully fit.

. Not so much a luxury as a complete and utter waste of money.

Well that's your view, who's being daft? If you hold him in so much disdain I think it's reasonable to ask if you want rid.

Gerrard is the only person I can think of that I've been distinctly underwhelmed by and that I've voiced my concerns about. There's a very long list for you!

Risso, TV, God and Budgie having a joint-birthday celebration somewhere this weekend?

Wonder if the four of them have ever been chosen together in the old "Who would you invite to a dinner-party?" question.
