I struggle to see how this is the manager's fault. I'd imagine that he'd prefer to have him available for selection.

I struggle to see where anybody has said it's the manager's fault!

"More Dean Smith waffle"

That's not blaming Smith though surely. It's just saying that 95% of what he spouts regarding injuries is absolute bollocks, because it is.

Dean doesn't injure the players(!).

Doesnt rotate them either.
No he just exhausts them as he doesn't believe in player exhaustion!
His old adage of telling his players when We last won the league we only used  14 players!

The chance would be a fine thing with Bailey!

Bailey pulling his quad scoring is one of the great football injuries, like Dave Beasant dropping a salad cream bottle on his foot or Alex Stepney dislocating his jaw shouting at his defence.

Vassell drilling his toenail is another.

Alan Wright injured his knee because he didn't suit the seat position of a Ferrari.

John Gidman getting hit in the eye by a firework.

In the NFL Jason Pierre-Paul lost about 3 fingers from a fireworks mishap.

Waffle latest:  Unfortunately, Leon hasn’t ticked all the boxes for the medical department. "We’re hopeful that he’ll be training after the Wolves game next week in preparation for Arsenal. Wolves is too soon."

What Dean Smith actually said: “Leon has a strain which is likely to keep him out until after the international break. We would be hopeful that he would be available for the Wolves game but we will need to assess him nearer the time and see how he progresses over the next ten days or so.”

Which is different to what people have taken from it.

Oh yes.... Dean Smith and hope.
Remember  his weekly comments on Jack Grealish: "He won’t be ready for the game and he’s not travelling with us. "We’ll decide later in the week if we can get him on the training ground and I'm hopeful he'll be ready next week"

But these injuries are not an exact science are they , it is how individual bodies heal .   But yep it is frustrating

As I’ve said previously, send them to Man City, seems to have cured Joe’s recurring problem!!

I don't blame Smith for the injuries  but i do not take any notice any more what he says about injured players because it turns out wrong what he tells us

Well who can say they've never encountered that old problem?

Ross Barkley taking a corner. Didn't  realise how potentially dangerous it is for the modern footballer to kick a ball.

Pretty sad and puts things into perspective to think that the next time Leon Bailey starts a game for us, there will be no tigers, gorillas or rhinos left. ☹
