Dean will probably say ‘yes I allowed him to go halfway across the world to Covid ridden countries as he needs some minutes under his belt.’

Surely there needs to be some common sense applied to international football? How many other teams are losing players for matches or are we being soft touches?

We are not soft touches, we are just a very honourable club. I have no issues with that.

Nothing to do with being honourable, Smith has already said they didn't want Martinez and Buendia to go and told them they shouldn't.

If this fella gets injured whilst playing an international after the start he's had with us, I will scream and scream and scream.

IF we lose our next 2 games, I will think well at least we are an "Honourable Club"

I could not care less about players playing for their countries during the current COVid restrictions, we need them to be playing for Aston Villa
Then good luck in attracting the next International standard player to our Club.

On Leon Bailey specifically, I thought I'd read somewhere that he wasn't overly bothered about playing for the Jamaican national team, on account of what he saw as the unhelpful attitude of the Jamaican FA towards him, at the time that he was setting about becoming a professional footballer.

As if they’d give a stuff. The vast majority of affected players in the Premier League are abiding by the Premier League ruling not to go to international call ups in Red List countries.

Joined up with Jamaica but was deemed unfit to play in the one game he was supposed to.

I presume he's back with us now but no idea if he'll be around for Saturday, hopefully 30 minutes off the bench and then start v Everton is best case scenario and we certainly need him in the team if we're to do anything this season.

Who is this man Bailey that you speak of. Seems to be here, there and everywhere except playing for Villa. Did we secure him on a deal that we can get our money back?

Well if Leon fades to grey, his legacy of an assist at Watford for Meatball's consolation strike will still trump Davey Unsworth's contribution at the Villa.

We do. He’s a fantastic talent and adds something in the pace department which we badly lack.

He's on the latest training pictures so hopefully he'll feature against Chelsea.
