Good point :)

To clarify, Gabby said Bailey could play up front.

Impressed that Gabby had heard of him. "Yeah...erm, I've been watching the Bundesliga regularly since I retoired."

Spent his formative years at Trenčín, like our Wes.
An unusual stopping off point for a Brazillian and Jamaican, I'd have thought.
And then Genk, which isn't so unusual.
Someone mentioned elsewhere that it's worth looking in to the backstory of how Bailey came over to European football and before that why he ended up being adopted by his football coach.
it is some story
Thanks for sharing the link, Ger. Fascinating story, and he seems to demonstrate a real purpose about his career decision-making, and a level-headedness.
Takes free kicks, too.

My contribution to the reggae adaptations that will never in a million years be sung at a football stadium…

Out on the wing
it’s Leon bai-ley!

(Out on the streets they call it murda- Ini kimoze /Damian Marley

Goals goals goals -
what a play-er — Leon Bailey!

(No no no - dawn penn)

Stick it in the top bins
Golden pen
Bailey scores goals for the villa men
Sometimes 9 and sometimes ten…

(Tenor saw - golden hen obviously)

Amazing this signing has hardly caused a ripple whereas normally there would be massive excitement.

The Canadian guy on The Holy Trinity has done a good piece on Leon Bailey and his back story - Dad getting kidnapped in Mexico etc.

Welcome to Aston Villa, Leon. We're all a bit distracted at the moment (I'm sure you can appreciate why, and not take it personally!), but we're so pleased you've come to join us, the most beautifully named football club in the world (TM John Gregory)! X

Gabby suggesting he could play as a centre forward if Watkins missed any games.
we’ve already got Davis and Wesley who can pretend to be centre forwards if Watkins is out….

Nowhere in that backstory Ger posted did it say Leon Bailey had been kicked in the head by a horse.

So why would he join Newcastle.

Yes thanks from me too. Quite a story. Not sure what alleged ”attitude issues” allegedly put Arsenal off, but  can imagine giving someone the benefit of the doubt given such a back story.
