I knew there was another one that didn't immediately come to mind but it has now: former Tory MP Leon Brittan.  I reiterate, I'm losing it.  Anyway welcome Leon the world will be your oyster at this club, don't waste the opportunity.

Welcome Leon! Hope you have a great career at Villa.
I must admit I know nothing about this player, so have no idea whether he's a statement signing or not. Time will tell.

Agreed personal terms and doing his medical in Florida. Source- his step dad.
I suppose Craig Butler is coming with him as usual?

Never heard of him. (Until we were apparently interested, should I add)

Good luck Leon, you look good on YouTube.

Every time I see anything about this lad and see the name Leon I automatically think of Leon Britton.  I'm losing it altogether.

Could be worse, could be Leon Brittan.

I'm guessing he's referring to the two different people with very similar names.

Leon Britton was a jobbing midfielder for Swansea when they first came up to the Premier League.

Leon Brittan was a former Home Secretary during the Thatcher years and then European Commissioner.

Or possibly the other way round.

Correct.  My first post was about the ex-Swansea player and the second the ex-Tory MP.

I encountered the latter struggling up a mountain in the Lake District during his time in the Cabinet.

Pretty sure he can play as a striker too so opens up the option of playing two up front.

Honestly so excited about this. Not often that you see everyone with knowledge of a player agree, but this time all the journos agree on some version of 'what a signing for Villa'.

Spent his formative years at Trenčín, like our Wes.

An unusual stopping off point for a Brazillian and Jamaican, I'd have thought.

And then Genk, which isn't so unusual.

Will there be a release clause?
