Aaaagh Stuart Taylor, Another one of our heroes that fucked off to Man City.

That was the day the music died, for me.

I'm so pleased with this news he's a brilliant player by what I've seen and heard just the sort of player we need.

Assuming this all goes through it feels like a real bargain. He’s a brilliant player and I think his game is tailor made for the Premier League.

I’ve also been having a poke around the Leverkusen forums. Most wish him well and think £35m is a steal.

Perhaps understandably a few are surprised that he is heading to Aston Villa and not a ‘bigger club.’ More like this please.

Really good signing this, and the price is a fair one. Bailey's a counter-attacking player with pace to burn and a keen eye for a free kick too - check out his 2019 goal against Werder Bremen. He would need to play ideally in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, so Grealish, Buendía and Bailey behind Watkins would be quite a sight to behold.

The only downsides are the ones that affect all wide players: inconsistency (no-one at Leverkusen expected him to be so good last year after two seasons where he wasn't so hot) and the fact that Bailey's 1v1 skills are great when he's given space, but don't always work against defences that sit deep.

But Bailey's lay-offs at pace and deep, raking passes more than outweigh this - watch his pass for Moussa Diaby's opening goal against Borussia Dortmund in January.

'He's Jamaican, he's quick,
His name's a Besson flick, Léon, Léooonnn!'
Mate me laugh anyway. Saw LL bar the last 15 minutes of that film in a pub in Edinburgh before it was abruptly halted for closing time. Still no idea how it ends. I kind of like it that way. It adds mystique to the whole film.

If you haven't seen the end of LEON, then you've missed out big time, a brilliant film from start to finish.

He looks incredible. A genuine Champions League level attacker.

I haven't seen Leon Bailey play so not sure how good he is but I do trust our recruiting team who have managed to get some real quality in the squad so far.

That free-kick is about as good as it gets!

He's left-footed too.  Love a left-footed Villa player - almost without question they're always great.

Except for Neil Taylor.  He was crap!

Whether he's just as good I don't know. He's faster and his stats for goals and assists last season were so close to he fundamentally the same.

I think we can be confident that there isn't £40m difference.
