I wonder if the club have pushed hard to get this deal to this stage today - bit of good news on top of all the Grealish negativity amongst the fan base

I'd say the wheels were already well in motion before 'news' of Jack's move started to gain momentum.

Our counter attack will be so much more effective next season.

Emi2, Leon & Ollie on the counter will bring back memories of Young, Gabby & Downing.

From what I've seen of Ashley he still likes to get forward anyhow too !
But that's Brilliant memories of the attack

More importantly, our creativity will be on another level which should allow us not to rely on counter attacking, as powerful and effective as it may be.

Let’s hope he’s more Ashley Young than Nzogbia.  I’ve never seen him play but happy to se others on here rate him.

With a certain Jack Grealish as well, we’d be like a purring Aston Martin going forward.

SHA would just refer to us as a DVB11.

Never heard of him before, but how he strove to become a professional footballer (assisted by his father) is quite a story in itself, and having now seen some footage of him playing in the Bundesliga he certainly looks an exciting proposition.

Just for comparison: league stats in 20/21

Leon Bailey - 30 games/8 goals/9 assists - £30m
Jadon Sancho - 26 games/8 goals/11 assists - £73m

Dortmund finished 3rd, Leverkusen 6th

Adapt the Tuanzebe song.

Decent shout that.

I'd prefer we adapt Musical Youth's Pass the Dutchie, a celebration of Brummie West Indian culture

Villa generation
Rules the nation
We certain

Villa happen to be the food of love
Plays to really make you rub and scrub

I say

Pass to Bailey on the left hand side
Pass to Bailey on the left hand side
He's gonna burn
Give me pace , he's as fast as Bolt
He got da ball
Give me the goal, make me rockin' on the Holte
I say

Pass to Bailey on the left hand side
Pass to Bailey on the left hand side..

Having given this a lot of thought with a view to coming up with something witty, tuneful and original, can I propose ‘There’s only one Leon Bailey’?

In doing some google translate on the Leverkusen forums they think we got a bargain and think his contribution will be severely missed. Sounds familiar..
