We were linked with him a couple of times before last season so predates Gerrard but he may have watched him in Scotland.

Apparently Gerrard had thoughts of bringing him to Rangers and the lad played against them so he knows him. And yes, we tried to bring him in but he chose to stay with Dundee previously.

Sign him and send him straight back on loan for 6, maybe 18-months.  That would hopefully keep all parties happy.
