Need to remember that it's better that there be exceptional individuals who could come through to the first team than to have an overall strong team winning the trophy but doesn't produce players for the first team.

Totally agree, the days of the U23 team being an end in itself are thankfully consigned to history. Any success there matters not a jot if none of them can make a breakthrough.

Tonight’s #PL2 clash with Sunderland has unfortunately been postponed due to a frozen pitch, after a late pitch inspection.

A rearranged date will be announced in due course.

Villa U23 must be sick and tired of the North east ,it was only a few weeks ago the match at Newcastle was  abandoned after just 28 minutes To get called off at Sunderland less than 20 minutes must be so frustrating
