I went along as my daughter pulled a face when I said I didn't fancy it so I gave in, a healthy crowd and great to see familiar faces. A wonderful PR exercise from the club with interviews, autographs and players throwing balls into the crowd, mainly a young crowd and a lot of smiling faces. Well done Villa and Dean.

In the little game, Ollie looked razor sharp, Traore very inventive and the young lads looked decent if a little raw with Ramsey the pick.

Matty Cash is really going to have to get a haircut, some bigger shorts and black boots. For those of us with deteriorating eyesight, he looked identical to you know who.

And Ashley Young may be playing far more than any of us thought when he signed.

Tbf, Ash isn't playing like a 36 year-old. Could prove to be a shrewd bit of business.

34 appearances last season for the Italian champions.

Yea my lad got one of those balls the players were throwing into the crowd, he was chuffed.
It was really great to be back and yep a great bit of PR, was very feel good.
Ollie did look really sharp as did Ings, noticed the two of them chatting a lot as well, could be the start of a great front two. Traore also looked good, could be a three of Ollie, Ings and Traore next week.

Fair play to Danny Ings, he got into the spirit of things much earlier than the other players firing ball after ball into the Holte End, he didnt seem to sign any of them mind.

Great that so many many enjoyed the open training day. I used to take my two when young and they loved it. Looking forward now to today's game and moving past this week. UTV.

His technique in striking the ball on the volley is something to behold, fair to say there was a little rust in the direction as he got his eye in. I think we might see some special goals from him this year.

Can anyone confirm what time the live (Salernitana) match is being shown?  Depending on which Villa web page you go on, it's showing 14.00 or 17.00?

Looked fit as a fiddle at Bristol. Seeing him live, he could be in his late twenties with his level of fitness.
