The song about the Premier league being "corrupt as fuck" is never more appropriate than now. This is just blatant protectionism on behalf of the SKY SIX cockroaches. Do these scum think we were never going to analyse this and not understand it for EXACTLY
what it is?? If you want to carry on paying the highest ticket prices in the World for the privilege of making a load of con-men rich then you crack on. I am worryingly close to being done with football, in fact it can go fuck itself.

Maybe Sky and the BBC will have a program of experts dedicated to discecting and discussing this fine and punishment................nah don't hold your'e breath. Will not be mentioned and certainly not negatively. Where is voice of the common man wanker Neville with items like this . . he only opened his gob previously as Redfilth were front and centre of the proposed split

Clearly a worked out and agreed move that will be supported by City (as long as they get the same)

People whinned about "Premier league, corrupt as fuck" - it could not be more accurate.  Each season my love of the game is eroded a little more - it will reach a point that most normal fans will just thinks - why bother?

Sad times

You could fine City 100 x £100,000,000 and it would not make a bit of difference - issue a formal 2 year transfer ban - after being able to stock pile some of the best young talent around for last few years

it's the blatant disregard for the rest of us and the underestimation of our intelligence and ability to understand what has, and continues to go on. They've just insulted every paying supporter in the country.

If Man City's "punishment" for want of a better word is along similar lines, then those trophies they bought count for absolutely nothing and are nothing but ill-gotten gains. Ditto Abramovitch's fucking Chelski.

It is odd that an action that has enabled a team to get an unfair sporting advantage doesn’t have a sporting penalty. The suspended transfer ban is hilariously weak.

The fine is about of quarter of the price they’ll pay for Brighton’s next good player. Absolutely pathetic.

This is just unreal.  Cheat til you win, and go honest once the cheating isnt needed anymore - seems to be the only viable business model.

£10m fine is a joke.  The reality is we need to kick up merry hell about this, along with any other PL club.  Its corruption plan and simple.  Fans are having to play ridiclous money to support there teams - much as a direct result of FFP - and it turns out it only applies to certain clubs.

They won a CL, two Europa cups, two titles, two FA Cups and a league cup with the players they broke the rules with so it’s incredible they haven’t been given a points deduction, title strips and recruitment bans over it. This success helped make them into what they were today and I absolutely do not believe the prem didn’t know about it before the self reporting either.

Wonder what punishment Villa would have got in the same situation?

I know it’s not real but the first 30 seconds of this seems quite apposite in the circumstances

Ah but it wasn’t the current owners and the new ones coughed up.

Sound then,  let's  go mental this summer and then Nas can sell up to one of his brothers.

So if I get the rules, break them massively, win trophies and make loads of money, and then settle for a disproportionately favourably fine.

As long as you tell them you are doing it and share all the background information. What a farce.

Our UEFA fine last summer was a similar value for having the cheek to enter the Champions League or something similar.

'Aston Villa must pay £9.5m in fines and failure to comply with their three-year settlement could lead to a further penalty of up to £13m more'.
