^^ But it’s not about sustainability. And the rules are voted on by the clubs in their own self-interest, be they the Greedy 6, or clubs who want to stay clear of the bottom three.
We’ve just got to get on with it, and the owners have to find ways to pump their/other peoples’ money into the club, plus raise legitimate revenue.
I don’t see the point of coming on here or twitter and just saying ‘it ay fair’ over and over again.
Well said Percy. We know the financial rules aren’t fair that’s been obvious for at least 10 years, the focus should always be on what the club are doing about it. They’ve made huge strides in the period since Unai’s been here on commercial income, they just need to keep pushing that forwards. My own view is another top 4 finish and a Champs League campaign will help us break the €500m turnover figure and that will bring with it some sustainability in terms of SCR. It won’t fix it but it’ll be better than the current position and mean we can strengthen our squad.
It is also harder to keep a straight face when saying it ay fair if you also look at some of our dreadful transfer business in recent years.
We have done very well despite our transfers, not because of them.
On the plus side, we got Kamara, Martinez, McGinn, Tielemans, Duran, Bizot, Barkley, Cash, Lindelof, Luiz, Rogers and Konsa for less than what we got for Grealish. So it’s not all doom and gloom.
