How is it hard to make an intellectual argument that PSR prevents competition when the "Bakers Dozen" Europe wide is irrelevant, but the cadre of clubs in the Premier League we're directly competing with, have all spent significantly more  is significantly relevant. Disingenuous twaddle.

We've found it hard to sell. So hard in fact we've sold £280m since January 2024 alone.

One thing he does get right is we absolutely do want to replace the elite, with rules suited to our significant spending capacity. They've had it their way since 2011. Time to die, you red bastards and let the new boys take over.

Thats an interesting article but I dont agree with all of it especially the bit that suggests clubs like Villa and Newcastle are only interested in tilting things in our favour. A complete free for all would indeed be bad for the PL as Newcastles owners have bottomless pockets. I dont know what the solution is but the current status quo cant continue if it means only the "Cartel 6" are able to bring in players at will which is exactly what's transpired so far in this window. I've got nothing against Newcastle specifically but state ownership of football clubs is poison to the game and must be stopped.

He completely ignores that clubs like Man Utd and Barcelona are sitting on a mountain of debt but can spend almost whatever they like anyway, which rather ruins any conclusion he comes to. On top of that the way he glosses over the impact on academies makes it difficult to not think there's a bias involved.

His comment about our spending is highly misleading as well. Yes we had a huge net spend in the first 2 years after promotion, same as pretty much every club that has come up and stayed up for the last decade. Since then our net spend is £90m in 4 1/2 years so roughly £20m a season, which is nothing like the picture he's trying to paint.

This is the same prick that ‘wrote’an absolute arse licking article about the noses last week.  We know where his leanings are.

He doesn’t seem to understand that the supposed big six - and yes even Liverpool and Manchester United - spent their way to success to get the revenue they do now. Then they pulled the ladder up. It’s relatively straight forward but he doesn’t get it!

That's an absolutely terrible article, full of misrepresentation and spuriousness.

If he genuinely believes it when he says "It is very hard to make an intellectually honest argument that PSR has prevented either one of them spending money." he either isn't paying attention or is being intellectually dishonest. Ignores the fact that both Villa and Newcastle had poor and/or tiny squads prior to promotion, hardly surprising then that our sales figures aren't as high as Chelsea. All of the other sports he mentions have some kind of flat budget cap. And we've never given any indication that we want to abolish all financial regulation. Full of shit.

Bottom line, how are other clubs outside the elite, supposed to keep up and be challenge them without spending money? The whole driver of the PL is money. In any other area of the business world, what the PL are doing and UEFA, would be illegal.

Some of the avenues that lead to being able to spend money are open to us.

There's a very decent read in the Athletic about SCR today. Arsenal and Forest could be in trouble with it next season due to their splurge this summer. How Forest is able to add the wages they have to their existing tight PSR is bewildering, if they've found a back door revenue we need to watch closely.

Chelsea's latest Strasbourg deal is even more blatant SCR games too.
