They're completely different players.

Yeah, Emi is ace and MacAllistar is a cheating, overrated piece of shit.

I’m kind of glad some of our players don’t get picked purely from a selfish have the summer off come back refreshed perspective.

MacAllister is a better cheat.

Yep. More likely to get another player sent off/ win a pen then Buendia who just tries to create/score.

MacAllister is a better cheat.
The self styled enforcer who at the slightest provocation will throw himself to the floor holding his face.
Absolute twat and Liverpool player.

Macallister isn't taking Emi's spot, Lo Celso and Almada are. Neither of which have done anything this season to earn it. Almada has just 3 goals and 1 assist so I can't work out why he's there at all.

I don't get not taking him, when Messi tires after 70 mins, what better player than Emi to come on and cause havoc.

Strange one.

Even more so given that Messi went off injured in his last MLS game and seems likely to miss the first match or two of the World Cup.

And little Emi could fit in Martinez' suitcase.

Am in this camp too. Pau, Emi, Bouba, Tammy even Bizot.

Did Maatsen get picked?

Ollie and McGinn last chance so dont begrudge them.

I don’t know enough about Argentine football to understand the calibre of players he’s up against. However on the surface it seems an odd choice to leave out a player who is absolutely flying, full of confidence and has shown he can make an impact at the highest level.

If you’re looking for someone to make things happen with 20 odd minutes to go he’s exactly the kind of player you’d want to bring on. Their loss, and hopefully our gain.
